How does the SMS (text messaging service) option work in the CentrixOne CRM?

Principle

The SMS function allows you to send and receive text messages via your CentrixOne account.

Once the option has been activated, go to the contact’s card, then click on the speech bubble icon to the right of the Cell field, to send a text message to the contact.

The number must be in the Cell field to use this function.

When you receive a text message and you are not in the contact’s card, a red number will appear on the bubble icon in the top right-hand corner of the screen. Click on this icon to display the most recent contacts who have communicated by text message, then on the desired contact to display their SMS conversation history.

Once in the conversation window, you can quickly access the contact’s card by clicking on the Go to contact link in the top left-hand corner of the window.

Permission required

The SMS function is a CentrixOne CRM premium option.

Once the SMS function has been unlocked in your CentrixOne account, you can activate permission for the users concerned. It appears in the Contacts section, under Text messaging, in the user groups and permissions section.

If necessary, refer to the following guide: How to manage permissions?

Local line / Toll-free line

For the SMS function, the choice between a local line or a toll-free line simply reassures the customer that he can send a text message to a number with a local area code.

Indeed, no matter how many lines you have, in CentrixOne you won’t notice any difference visually.

The contact will be able to text one of your lines, but you won’t be able to distinguish which one they’ve used.

When you reply to a text message, CentrixOne CRM will automatically use the same line that the contact used.

When you text a new contact, the system will use the line pre-configured for your user.
