Introduction #
If the contact or the account has no associated tasks or opportunities, the process is simple. You just need to delete the client card. Please note that when you delete an account card, all contacts associated with this account are also deleted.
If the contact or account you wish to delete has a task associated with it, think of deleting the task before deleting the client card. Doing so will ensure your Tasks module is always up-to-date and showing only tasks associated with existing customers.
Please note that if you wish to delete a contact who has an associated task, if that contact belongs to an account, you can transfer the task to the account instead of deleting it.
If a task is associated with a contact or an account that has been deleted, when you click on this task in the Tasks module you will no longer be able to access this client’s card.
If an opportunity is associated with a contact or an account you wish to delete, you must first delete the opportunity before being able to delete the client card.
How to delete a contact? #
- Click on the Contacts module
- Search for the right contact, then click on their name to open their client card
- This step is optional but recommended: check if there are tasks associated with this contact (if so, delete them or transfer them to the contact’s account)
- Check if there are opportunities associated with this contact (if so, delete them)
- Click on the Delete button
- Select the desired option (please note that if the contact is associated with an account and there are no other contacts on this account, you can choose to delete both the contact and the account at once)
How to delete an account? #
- Click on the Accounts module
- Search for the right account, then click on its name to open its client card
- This step is optional but recommended: check if there are tasks associated with this account (if so, delete them)
- Check if there are opportunities associated with this account (if so, delete them)
- Click on the Delete button (please note this action will delete the account and all associated contacts)
How to delete multiple contacts? #
- Click on the Contacts module
- Filter the list according to your desired criteria
- Click on each contact to verify if they have associated tasks or opportunities (if so, delete their tasks or transfer them to the account (optional but recommended), and delete their opportunities)
- Once your verification is done, click on the Contacts module to go back to your filtered list
- Check the boxes on the left of the contacts to be deleted
- Click on the Delete button
- Select the desired option (please note that you can choose to delete accounts that will no longer have associated contacts after this deletion)
How to delete multiple accounts? #
- Click on the Accounts module
- Filter your list according to your desired criteria
- Click on each account as well as each contact associated with these accounts to check if they have associated tasks or opportunities (if so, delete their tasks or transfer them to the account (optional but recommended), and delete their opportunities)
- Once your verification is done, click on the Accounts module to go back to your filtered list
- Check the boxes on the left of the accounts to be deleted
- Click on the Delete button (please not this action will delete accounts and associated contacts)
